In this era of casual shirts dominating over classic options, sales of cufflinks are not what they were in their heyday five years ago. But they do remain an easy add-on sale to suits and shirts, as well as a perfect gift buy for boutique owners looking for Christmas merchandise. The latest crop of styles visible at Moda Menswear kept designs simple with chrome bodied styles in square and rounded shapes largely featuring classic blue enamelling. At the more premium end precious stones are beginning to trickle through – a trend kick-started by men’s jewellery designer Robert Tatteossian over six seasons ago.

Jonathan Boston, founder of men’s accessories brad denisonboston, says it’s all down to demand – seasonal cufflinks were developed in response to consumers, not in spite of them. “During the winter, men want subtle, discrete styles to go with their dark suits or for formal parties around Christmas,” Boston says. “But During the summer they want somethign more flamboyant with pink or purple stones, esprcially our pink fleur-de Lys design (pictured), because they are wearing lighter suits and it is also the wedding season.”

denisonboston make front cover MWB this August

One of the new denisonboston images for this season has been chosen as front cover for MENSWEAR BUYER magazine August issue. MWB is the premier monthly mens trade publication in the UK. Inside the magazine further denisonboston images are featured along with a call to attend the menswear show Moda Platform, which takes place 9-11 August at the NEC, Stand MD28. Founder Jonathan Boston said,”The new images for Autumn Winter 09 draw inspiration from modernist form and celebrate an era when iconic style was essential in everyday life.”
